Artweaver is a free raster-based graphics editor for the Microsoft Windows operating system that was developed by Boris Erich.
For the most part, this software is aimed at amateur artists as well as professional artists working with such well-known commercial products as Adobe Photoshop or Corel Painter.
Like the commercial programs mentioned earlier, Artweaver can emulate a wide variety of effects, such as pastel, pencil, or oil painting, to create the most natural-looking image possible.
Features of Artweaver:
This application also has popular filters such as blur or relief and others as part of it. Artweaver also supports such well-known and quite common image formats as PNG, TGA, PSD, PCX, TIFF, BMP, GIF, JPEG. This application has in its composition and such well-known tools for editing as selection, filling, "magic wand", pencil, gradient, and "lasso".
The Artweaver editor is multiplatform and can work under Linux and other Unix-like operating systems through Wine.
Previously, this application was completely free, but since version 1.0, which came out September 30, 2009, Artweaver is available in two versions: the free version and the paid version "Artweaver Plus", which costs €29 and has more advanced features. These include full compatibility with the filters of the graphic editor Adobe Photoshop, as well as increasing the maximum supported image size.
In turn, the free version of the application cannot be used for commercial purposes.
