Koma-mail is a closed-source client program used for receiving and processing e-mail. It is designed for 32-bit Windows operating systems (Vista and Windows 7 are supported, among others).
The program handles e-mail using the IMAP, POP3, SMTP, WebDav (Hotmail) protocols.
User and anti-spam filters are included in the program.
Advantages of Koma-mail
- You can run it directly from removable media and you don't have to install it by Windows rules (portable-mode startup);
- The program is translated into many languages (more than 23), including English;
- The ability to work over a secure SSL connection;
- Possibility to create several accounts, each of which can work with the mail received from several mail boxes;
- can block unwanted scripts and ActiveX components in HTML format emails;
- Supports RSS news feeds, export and import of letters and contacts.
The disadvantages are that it is not possible to import Outlook Express mail databases and other mail programs. Available formats for importing: "native", EML, LDI and CSV contacts, Outlook-wab.
Also, the program has no mechanisms to help user to enter the data of accounts, badly structured and too linear structure of settings, limited by the choice of English codepage only one - cp1251.
