Explanary is an application designed for translation. You can use the utility to translate words and applications while you are in another program. In addition to translating, you can also find explanations of terms you do not understand in the application.
The main functions of the Explanary are
- Function calls using a set of hot keys;
- pop-up windows with translation tooltips and possibility to set them up;
- the "on top of all windows" presentation function and semi-transparency;
- possibility to create bookmarks for each word;
- you can switch dictionaries on/off and import your own dictionaries;
- Import of DSL dictionaries;
- word meaning can be searched in several dictionaries at once;
- function of typing words in the program, without putting cursor in the input window, the word will appear in it automatically;
- word search: the word is filled in after entering the first letters;
- possibility of setting fonts and other parameters;
- the program can be minimized to a tray in the corner of the screen;
- autoloading of the application with Windows.
The program includes the explanatory dictionary of English, the encyclopedia Britannica, the English-German and English-French dictionaries for two translation directions, as well as a similar large compiled English-English dictionary. You can download additional sets of English and English explanatory dictionaries, dictionaries of other languages, and encyclopedic dictionaries.
