Silverlight is a special platform with which you can play various graphic elements, create interactive web applications based on Microsoft.Net.
It is a great alternative to Flash Player, which is its main competitor. The Silverlight platform is developed by Microsoft Corporation. Silverlight is adapted to different browsers.

- the application can be run outside the browser;
- improved graphics, artistic effects, support for 3D graphics;

The latest version of Silverlight can be downloaded from the Microsoft Update Center.
If you already have an earlier version of the application installed on your computer, the latest version will be offered as an update.
The latest version has a self-updating mechanism set up to get newer versions, which is disabled by default. The module is compatible with web applications that were created on earlier versions of Silverlight.
The Silverlight platform is supported by Windows XP, 2000, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and more. The size to install the package is about 6 MB. Silverlight is licensed as Freeware.
