SUMo is a small but very useful utility for all Windows users from XP to 10 who are interested in timely updates of already installed software. SUMo quickly scans your system and tells you if the software on your computer needs to be updated.
How does SUMo work?
After downloading a utility file that weighs less than 1 megabyte, SUMo will prompt you to scan your computer for installed software. A list of applications requiring updates will appear in the utility's window. SUMo marks recommended updates with a yellow triangle with a black exclamation mark in the center. Unnecessary but available updates are marked with a yellow star, and the most recent software is indicated by a green circle with a "checkmark" in the center.
Next to all the names of programs on your computer, whether they require updates or not, the manufacturer (the company that makes the software), the software version on your computer, and the available update are indicated.
At the bottom of SUMo there are function buttons that you can use to:
- quickly re-scan your computer;
- add recently installed programs for scanning;
- remove items that indicate a needed update.
If you delete certain items, SUMo will not inform you about available updates of the programs removed from the scan. You need to configure the SUMo utility to start updating the selected program.
