Browsec VPN is a browser extension for Windows that encrypts traffic, spoofs the IP address, and allows you to access web resources regardless of their "regional policy" and prohibitions of the network provider. It communicates with the decentralized cloud network, which rules out any possibility of fast interception of user traffic.
Allows the user to choose a "dummy" location from a list of available locations. Integrates directly into the browser and runs from the browser interface. Detects de-anonymization requests and stops their processing on the "client" side. Supports both standalone and portable versions of browsers.
Browsec VPN functionality
- Integrates into the browser and "supplements" its interface with its own controls;
- Creates a "tunneled" communication channel in the "cloud" network with an "endpoint" in the selected country, replacing the real IP-address with a fictitious one;
- Encrypts outgoing traffic and decrypts incoming data packets;
- Analyzes "data packets", detects "de-anonymizing" requests and prevents them from being processed on the "client" machine side;
- Saves settings and presets before closing the browser, and initiates their use on startup;
- Automatically changes the "fictitious" location, in case of a significant "sag" of the Internet connection speed.
VPN features
- Installation in the system is not required - the extension is integrated directly into the browser;
- Complex cryptographic algorithms for traffic encryption;
- Use of a decentralized "cloud" network, synchronization with which occurs through "closed" information "tunnels" makes it impossible to intercept traffic;
- Ability to integrate and use in "portable" versions of browsers;
- Relatively high degree of anonymity;
- Availability of an automated system for selecting the optimal location when the speed drops.
Disadvantages
- Other browser extensions can adversely affect the security of user data;
- Absolute anonymity is not guaranteed;
- Some Internet sites may be unavailable ("cured" by changing "fictitious location").
