Windscribe VPN is a symbiosis of a VPN client and an ad blocker for Windows. It encrypts traffic and provides access to "blocked" web resources regardless of their "regional restrictions". It blocks the transmission of "adware" data and the display of ads in browsers.

Equipped with an integrated Firewall, which prevents any data transfer "bypassing" VPN. It can be launched from the autostart before the "network" driver.
Windscribe VPN functionality
- Creates a "tunneled" data gateway protected by the AES-256-GCM crypto algorithm and uses it to send traffic;
- Encrypts/decrypts outgoing/incoming data packets;
- Scans traffic, identifies "advertisement data", de-anonymization requests" and malicious data packets, and blocks them from receiving/sending;
- Reconfigures the system, browsers and NIC, for a specified connection method ("standard", "TCP", "hidden"), allowing bypassing "gateway" blocking and "hiding" from the deep network scanning by the provider;
- Analyzes the system, disabling any data transmission "bypassing" the VPN, with the Firewall enabled;
- Loads from autoloading before starting "network" drivers.
Utility Features
- Powerful double encryption using AES-256-GCM crypto algorithm - when creating a "tunnel of information" and during direct data packet transmission;
- Possibility to block any type of "advertisement" traffic before it is interpreted by browsers;
- TCP-mode for bypassing blocking "by gateway";
- "Hidden" mode for "hiding" traffic from deep network scanning by ISP servers;
- Impossibility to detect real IP-address when Firewall-mode is on;
- Presence of function to start from autostart before network drivers "start" - useful when infected with viruses that can "disclose" the real IP.
Disadvantages
- Relatively long "rendering" of pages in browsers because of the need for double decryption;
- The "Firewall" feature may conflict with the system Firewall and adversely affect the functionality of network programs (can be fixed by rebooting and disabling the Firewall beforehand);
- Some of the advertisements cannot be detected by traffic filtering.
