Shotcut is a free program that is a cross-platform solution for video editing tasks.
If this is your first time launching Shotcut, you'll have the opportunity to take a free tutorial that will quickly familiarize you with the program's basic functionality. If you're already proficient with video editors, skip this course.
Shotcut Features
The main features of Shotcut are the ability to cut some parts of images and apply different filters (e.g. glow, blur, saturati, white and mirror).
The toolbar may seem a little empty the first time you start it, but that's only because by default almost all the functions are simply removed from the screen. By going to the "View" menu, you can connect additional modules and control panels in Shotcut. There is a "Properties" panel for fine-tuning the video file. With this panel you can change the sample rate, adjust the desired codec, image quality, volume and sound depth and much more.
Beginners will find very useful such a feature as "presets" already present in the program. All necessary settings can be easily changed in a special dialog box "Settings". Hardware video processing is also activated here.
