The Balabolka application is used to convert text to human voice and record the result in an audio file. The program reads aloud the typed text, the contents of the clipboard, as well as the text content of files doc, rtf, pdf, chm, fb2, epub and odt. Tasks can be controlled from the system tray or using hot keys.
Balabolka application features
- Setting the speed of reading and tone of voice;
- spell check;
- splitting a text file into two or more smaller files;
- removal of hyphens and characters that slow down reading, allowing you to read words and coherent sentences smoothly without stuttering;
- search for homographs.
The text fragment voiced by the program can be saved as an audio file in any of the available formats: mp3, mp4, wma, wav, ogg, awb, m4a, m4b.
The program can convert the text voiced by computer voice into lrc file format or special id3-tags to insert into mp3 audio files. A modern media player plays such audio file and displays the recorded text synchronously.
Balabolka, like other speech synthesizers, uses the SAPI (Speech Application Programming Interface) speech recognition and synthesis software package developed by Microsoft. The package is available in two versions: SAPI 4 and SAPI 5. The application is compatible with any version of the speech module.
All voices are used for speech playback. These are separate programs that are installed in the application. After installing them, additional items appear in the list of voices. Unfortunately, the basic version has only English voice built-in, and to read English texts you need to download and install additional voices.
