NAPS2 is a free program that scans any document directly to PDF and other file types as easily as possible.
NAPS2 easily scans with any settings you choose. You can also set up multiple profiles for different devices and configurations. Once the scan is complete, the resulting document can be saved as a PDF, TIFF, JPEG, PNG, etc., emailed, or printed. All it takes is a few clicks of the mouse.
WIA and TWAIN compatibility
Before scanning, you should choose the driver that works best with your scanner, and set the parameters you need, such as DPI (resolution), page size, and bit depth. Scanning from a flatbed glass or automatic document feeder (ADF) is possible, including support for duplex mode (two-sided printing).
Rotate, crop and arrange scanned images
The NAPS2 allows you to arrange pages as you see fit, and use built-in tools to interleave double pages. You can easily rotate pages at right angles or choose an arbitrary rotation angle. The program has a sufficient set of tools for editing images, such as cropping a document or changing brightness and contrast.
Text recognition with OCR
Thanks to the optical character recognition (OCR) function it is possible to search text in PDF files in any of the 60 languages.
The program is available in more than 20 different languages, including English.
