MAPS.ME is a symbiosis of offline maps, online directory and GPS navigator for Android devices. It can be used both for searching for objects, constructing routes or determining the location in real time, and for navigation in conditions of lack of communication. Can remember the laid routes, save them in bookmarks and share them with selected contacts using hyperlinks.
It has several operating modes - Pedestrian, Bicycle, Car, and Combined (for transfer to public transport). It is equipped with the built-in information and reference system with tourist routes, work schedules and telephone numbers of administrative, commercial and industrial objects, indication of complicated traffic situation and other useful data.
MAPS.ME functionality
- Displays an offline map of the area;
- Memorizes the operating mode, corrects the way of constructing the route accordingly;
- Plots routes between specified addresses, selected objects or marked points on the map;
- Detects geolocation data of the user through the GPS-module or cellular towers, marks the location of the device on the map;
- Alerts you in advance by voice when you need to maneuver;
- Loads tourist routes, contact details, work schedules and other information about the selected objects on the map from the built-in database - displays them in the interface;
- Synchronizes with the online database and downloads up-to-date information about traffic jams, dangerous weather conditions, road works, and other nuances that affect the traffic situation;
- Shares actual routes to the selected contacts in the specified way.
