PowerDVD is a media player from the Taiwanese developer CyberLink. It is available in Standart, Deluxe, and Ultra versions. All versions play DVDs.
Blue-ray is supported only by the Ultra-version. It works on Windows, iOS, and Android. Versions for 32 and 64-bit systems are available.
PowerDVD features
PowerDVD is positioned by the developer as a universal music and video player. It works with most media formats and can paste slideshows from photos. It plays streaming video from any source. It is also worth noting such features of the program:
- support for surround sound;
- TrueTheater 3D, which uses a video card to convert 2D video into 3D;
- TrueTheater HD technology, which adjusts the picture of the standard size DVD to HD requirements;
- working with subtitles;
- importing comments on Twitter, MoovieLive, and Facebook;
- Ultra HD resolution support;
- instant extraction of audio fragment with subsequent saving;
- frame grabbing, saving graphical images to files of different types;
- uploading 3D video to Youtube.
The existing hardware decoding technology reduces the load on the processor by engaging the graphics gas pedal. Simple interface with a lot of different settings, stylish design, additional plug-ins made this utility a worthy alternative to most of the equally popular media players.
