MPC HomeCinema is a universal player. The program supports many additional formats: MOV, RoQ, RealVideo, OGG, FLI/FLC, SHOUTcast streams, Bink, and Smacker. The media player also supports playback of two audio formats during DVD playback - AC3 and DTS.

The program can automatically apply subtitles while watching DivX videos , you can also set the font type and color.
MPC allows you to connect all kinds of plug-ins. For example, MatrixMixer is able to turn stereo into a rather interesting sound, similar to 5.1 (the arrangement of channels can be made by the user). To access most of the program functions, the appropriate hotkeys are provided. The ability to independently specify the type of image rendering and the "Favorites" menu of the media player are the advantages of MPC HomeCinema.
New versions of the program developed since 2012 come with built-in codecs and are able to decode video using the computing power of video cards and/or multi-core processors.
