QuickTime is a free program from Apple whose functions include video, audio, text, animation, panoramic images, virtual reality movies, etc.
QuickTime can be used by other programs to perform their own multimedia tasks - for example, iTunes, iMovie by Apple, third-party software: Adobe Photoshop, Sony Vegas, etc.
This program requires codecs for working with DVD files and disks, such as MPEG-4 files. In addition, the Apple player can be used to watch streaming video from the Internet, live streaming audio and video data to the Internet.
QuickTime Pro is an extended version of the player, using which it is possible to create and edit audio and video, convert the file to another format, say, H.264.
