OBS Studio is an enhanced version of OBS (Open Broadcaster Software). It is an open and free source for video recording and live streaming.
OBS has a very wide range of functions and features, and at the same time it is free. This version retains the familiar user interface - menu bar, preview window, areas with scenes, sources, and mixers.
Each scene has a different set of sources. You can easily switch between scenes. The mixer displays all of the audio sources that are available.
Functionality
The OBS Studio utility has several unique features and functions:
- picture editor and video filters;
- each source becomes global at once;
- you can easily rearrange scenes and sources;
- a playback device with volume control is added for each source;
- sources are conveniently divided into layers for easy editing;
- multiplexing recordings (change the video format from .flv to .mp4).
Among the disadvantages of the updated version, it is worth noting that the editing function does not work in full-screen mode.
Menu options
In the general menu of the utility you can choose and configure the following basic parameters:
- language and design theme;
- broadcasting - you can select the type of broadcasting from the user's server and broadcasting services, such as YouTube, for example;
- output mode - a very interesting thing to pay attention to. Advanced mode allows you to configure a lot of parameters: multiple audio tracks, audio formats, choice of encoder. The audio settings allow you to remove your voice or game sounds. Setting CPU Profile - affects the CPU load of the streamer. For users with no experience in streaming there is a simple mode with automatic settings;
- audio - allows you to configure the number of channels (stereo or audio), the choice of audio device, etc;
- video - selection of rendering (OpenGL is added), FPS value;
- hotkeys - personalized settings, by default the values are empty;
- advanced settings - additional settings, such as audio buffering.
Anyone who has worked with OBS Classic will appreciate a version called OBS Studio.
