The program can be used to monitor the temperature of individual PC components - such as the CPU, motherboard, and hard drives. Also, the utility sets the clock frequencies of the motherboard and processor.
The peculiarity of the tool is controlling the speed of the fans installed in the computer. If a certain temperature is exceeded, SpeedFan automatically increases the fan speed. The application can find almost any monitoring system connected to a 2-wire SMBus and works with Windows 9x, ME, NT, 2000, 2003, XP and Windows Vista, in 64-bit versions of Windows.
The latest version of SpeedFan supports Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012, SCSI disks and is optimized with ACPI. The program works with almost any number of southern bridges, hard disks, temperatures, voltages, fan speeds and pulse width modulation.
