InShot - Video Editor & Maker — a mobile video editor for Android, designed for editing videos, processing photos and preparing posts for social media. The app combines clip trimming and merging, as well as the ability to work with music, text and visual effects, all within an intuitive interface, making it suitable for everything from a short clip of a trip to a vertical video featuring photos.
In terms of its toolset, InShot - Video Editor & Maker can be seen as an alternative to CapCut. Both apps allow you to edit videos on your smartphone, add music, text, stickers and filters, and adjust the playback speed. InShot focuses on quick, everyday edits and formats for social media, whilst CapCut offers more complex templates and advanced automated editing tools.

- Trim videos, remove unwanted sections and merge several clips into a single video.
- Adjust the aspect ratio for social media posts, including vertical and square formats.
- Add background music, sound effects and your own audio files, with volume control.

- Intuitive editing workflow: key operations are grouped on the timeline and accessible without complex project setup.
- Support for popular publishing formats, from short vertical clips to square posts.
- Convenient styling: text, music, stickers and filters are added directly onto the source material.
- Suitable for quick edits on Android when you need to prepare a video straight after filming.
Drawbacks
- Advertisements may appear in the free version, and the app’s watermark may appear on exported videos.
- Some effects and additional features are only available after payment.
- For complex editing involving multiple tracks and precise colour correction, the editor’s capabilities may be insufficient.
- When processing long videos, the strain on the device depends on the resolution of the source files and the amount of free storage.
InShot - Video Editor & Maker is probably best suited to those who need a compact set of tools for creating videos on Android without having to learn professional editing techniques. The app handles trimming, splicing and preparing vertical content, and is available free of charge.
